Why so many dogs have allergies now

Last spring, my standard poodle developed allergies and started scratching incessantly. Everyone I told said that their dog had allergies, too—and as it turns out, there's been at least a 30% increase in cases over the past 10 years. I reached out to veterinarians to find out why, and if there's anything we can do to keep our pets healthy and happy.
