Football can damage the brains of teenage players

Scientists already know that the violent hits characteristic of professional football can lead to the degenerative brain disease known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Now, a new study has detected worrisome brain changes in high-school football players as young as 15—changes that could set them up for CTE later in life.
