Near the Democratic Republic of Congo border, where volcanic ridges fall toward the shores of Lake Kivu, two brothers built something incredible. Their washing station is also a mini co-op — five farmer collectives, all flowing into one shared process, under the brothers' watch. The lake tempers the climate. The altitude slows the cherries. And the brothers have built the kind of infrastructure that turns exceptional fruit into something worth writing home about. (We are, in fact, writing to you about it right now.) |
