Happy Tuesday!
We cover a lot of medical innovation here at mindbodygreen so it takes a lot to genuinely excite me, but the new blood test we cover below made me super hopeful. The existing cancer screenings we have are helpful, but leave out so many areas. This test is working to change that in one fell swoop. —Sela Breen, assistant health editor Click here to share this newsletter with someone in need of some good health news. |

A blood test to detect cancer just got its biggest trial yetA blood test that can detect dozens of possible cancers has been in development for years, but it has been hard to know how effective it could be. A new study of nearly 36K adults who received the Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test as part of routine care gives a clearer sense of what the technology can currently do.¹
- 60.3% of positive results were accurate, which is a rate higher than what single-cancer screening tests typically deliver.
- False alarms were rare. 99.64% of negative results were accurate.
- 70.9% of new cancers found were stage I, II, or III, meaning treatment towards full remission was on the table.
The test was far from perfect—it only picked up 39.3% of the cancers diagnosed during the follow-up year—but it performed best on cancers that are notoriously hard to detect.

Get younger-looking hands |

 |
The problem: Your hands show early signs of aging. Thin skin, fewer oil glands, daily sun exposure, and frequent washing all contribute to dryness, dark spots, fine lines, and loss of firmness.
The solution: An antioxidant hand serum
How it works:
- Grapevine stem cells: Rich in antioxidant resveratrol to help reduce dark spots & soften wrinkles
- Rosehip oil: Helps replenish hydration & support the skin barrier
- Botanical stem cells: Help promote elasticity & protect against environmental stressors
Editor’s take: “I’ve struggled to find hand creams that I like using. This lightweight serum is the exception. Within a week of applying the formula daily to my hands, I noticed they were softer and smoother despite dropping temperatures.” |
